V21ZG Antigua and Barbuda NA-100 - Babs, DL7AFS e Lot, DJ7ZG, sono di nuovo in giro per il mondo, questa volta saranno sull’isola di Antigua (IOTA NA-100), come V21ZG.
Opereranno in RTTY/PSK/SSB dagli 80m ai 6m tra il 16 Marzo e il 4 Aprile.
Si concentreranno nel collegare JA e QRP.

Forse è stato il contest più divertente che ho mai fatto, certo non stiamo parlando del CQWW o altri con nomi importanti, stiamo parlando semplicemente del contest italiano in 40 e 80m che si svolge ogni anno il primo weekend di dicembre sotto l’egida organizzatrice della sezione A.R.I. di Bologna.
Ricordo l’anno scorso, avevo ancora il mio caro ic-706, in quell’occasione ebbe un tracollo verticale, ovvero andò in fumo la scheda di gestione delle correnti dei finali e portai avanti il contest praticamente in qrp e con la consapevolezza di dover buttare la radio….Poi le antenne erano semplici dipoli filari.
Oggi le cose sono molto cambiate, radio nuova, un bel FT-950, e soprattutto le antenne nuovo, in 40m una moxon full size autocostruita con le mie mani e in 80m un dipolo filare anche questo autocostruito dai fili al balun centrale 1:1 con toroide e cavo teflonato.
The incredible David 6Y1V has done the Young Ham selection also this year!
This year he has chosen 3 guys to make the CQWW CW 2009 from 6Y1V SuperStation. After my trip in Jamaica I thought that CW was passed and of little interest for me. David, instead, surprises me with him keyer! He was superfast and the sounds of TI – TA were music to my ears.
Since my return at home I have tried the CW. At this moment I’m making many CW QSO, my keyer is my PC, I don’t deny it! But now I’m able to understand my callsign and standard reports…
So, after this, I’m not surprised by the choice of David! He wants to encourage the HamRadio among young!
I think that will be a great experience for these guys, certainly one of the best in them life. So a very good luck to Roger EA3ALZ, Alex OZ7AM, Alex RV9LM, you will learn many things by David, these will be a treasure for you!

After the night of rest is time to analize the amazing results of the best ham radio contest of the year!
Friday I had received a phone-call by my friend Fabio IZ7NLJ: he said me that there was an incredible opening in 10m during the morning with some VK and other asian stations listen with good reports. It was a very good news, I have rushed on the net to search some feedbacks and I have found this fine article by G0KYA .
So there were very interesting premises….
And now, after a great fun, these are the results:
CQWW DX SSB Contest – Sommario e Statistiche per IZ7KHR
They were departed this night from Bari, my city, on a ferry boat for Durazzo, Albania, tomorrow they will reach Skopie, capital city of Macedonia, and than they will arrive at Z37M club station.
They will mount some beverages for 160m, especially one for EU direction. Some test will be made before the contest, so STAY TUNED.

Some videos about our partecipation at the IARU HF CHAMPIONSHIP 2009 in the Headquarter station IU8HQ.
The location was Mount Botte Donato (2000m),this is the highest place into the south-west of Italy, from it you can dominate the three italian seas: on the left the Adriatic sea, on the right the Tirrenic sea and to south the little Jonio sea.
A great experience with the friends of MDXC (Mediterraneo DX Club), so thanks to them for this opportunity and I hope to partecipate to others contests with this good and strong team!

Stiamo ora valutando la location dalla quale si svolgeranno le operazioni che cmq è già stata individuata.

L’impegno è massimo, come al solito quando si parla di radio.
Ottimo e divertente contest nostrano. Si è rivelato un ottimo laboratorio di test della mia delta loop, permettendo di sperimentare sia situazioni propagative molto diverse e variabili in maniera repentina, sia per studiare i vari skip del segnale sulla corta distanza sfruttando i rimbalzi offerti dai due mari italiani: Adriatico e Tirreno.
Il sabato pomeriggio è stato di rodaggio! Con molti cambi di puntamento ho compreso che era più semplice raggiungere il nord italia per via diretta a 315° circa, piuttosto che puntare in diretta il sud. Di certo la posizione più proficua si è rivelata essere quella a 270°, praticamente sul Lazio. Da quel puntamento ricevevo ottimi rapporti di segnale dal nord e riuscivo a farmi sentire anche nel sud, specialmente in Sicilia.
Questa posizione poi è rimasta quasi sempre la stessa durante la domenica mattina permettendomi ottimi contatti. E’ risultato molto difficile il contatto con skip corti, tipo altre province della mia regione e limitrofe (Brindisi, Taranto, Matera…).
L’idea che mi sono fatto è che l’accentuato angolo di irradiazione della mia delta riuscisse a sfruttare il Mar Tirreno come ottimo specchio riflettente, cosa che, invece, non è avvenuta in tal misura con l’Adriatico che ho a 500m dal mio qth verso est. In definitiva era un risultato atteso, ma che non mi ha risparmiato emozioni! Ringrazio tutte le stazioni che mi hanno collegato e in particolar modo tutte le stazioni portatili e qrp che sono sempre riuscito a tirar fuori con sommo piacere! Il prossimo anno sarò pronto a battagliare per i posti alti in classifica.

Ok, la delta loop è finalmente su! Le prestazioni sono ottimali! In attesa delle canne in fibra per fare la 2 elementi moxon per i 40m, voglio testare l’antenna durante il contest italiano 10m di questo fine settimana, spero di avere tempo.
