The WPX committee has published the official claimed score for the 2010 SSB edition.
My score seems to be very very good…So now I’m waiting only the confirm.

Today I have received the second qsl’s pack via my bureau. There many italians, europeans and japaneses qsls.
I have answer back to the first pack and qsls are now in the boxes ready to go to Milan at italian bureau center!
All direct qsls received were been send back with confirmations!
Some qso are not present in the log of 6Y7K’s activity, so please search in the log online before send me qsls!
These are the big confusion on my table!!!
I have take part at WPX SSB 2010 from San Marino Republic with my friend Giorgio IZ4AKS.
He has operated in SO20HP category and I have made my WPX in SO80LP category.
I have not a good experience about 80mts. I would thank to all members of A.R.R.S.M. for this great opportunity.

I made some strategic errors due to few hours of sleep.
But it was a wonderful contest, the setup was perfect: a full size 1/4 vertical for TX, 3 directional beverages (one for N-E dir., one for W-E dir., one for S dir.) for RX, my FT-950.
I have heard beautiful signals, in particular from USA during the morning daylights. I have made just few QSOs during the morning and first afternoon with Italian and German, I hoped better. Despite the excellent path to Asia,I was not able to log any JA. It was a pity!

I have spent some times cqing during a Scout Camp! I have made some calls especially on 40m from 27th december 2009 to 29th.
My conditions were: FT-857 and mobile antenna PROXEL PRO-X1, only 100W.
I have obtained very good results from this antenna, it works really fine altought its dimension, I have heard strong signals from europe, but also incredible signals from USA at sunrise until also midmorning. I think these unbelievable results are due to particular 40m conditions in this period!
My little antenna was supported by some wires as radials with 1/4 lambda length for 40m and a magnetic base positioned on an alluminium chimney. With this setup I have noticed a good performance, especially in RX.
I have used the same setup from JN66BM Cortina, on the Dolomiti. In that case I had a great ground by the metal roof, but there were mountains that have attenuated all signals…. In the last case I was near the sea….
The logbook is been uploaded into my main online logbook so you can research your qso with me without problem!!!
“First and foremost, congratulations to everyone on the accomplishment of 1st Place North America and 2nd Place World in the 2008 CQWW SSB. All of you were fantastic operators and made a great team. This is a huge accomplishment for 6Y1V!
I have attached a scan of the certificate I just received from CQ Magazine.
Again, thank you all for your participation and a fantastic job.
Thank you kindly,
David ~ KY1V”
Thank you David, it was been a very incredible adventure! You are a great man, a great DXman, but also a great Teacher, you have taught me many things about the fantastic world of hamradio and contests! See you in contest GD!
I have had a great surprise this morning!!!
My great friend Giorgio IZ4AKS, who was in Bejiing to work, was trasmitting from the Big Radioclub B1Z using the temporary license IZ4AKS/BY1RX. He was at 14.195, for me the beaming was 50°NE, into my Delta Loop the signal was 59+10dB, a wonderful report from China!

Giorgio is a great DX Man, one of E44M, 1A4A, 1A3A, 9H3KS, HB0/IZ4AKS, HV5PUL, T70A (T71SM), IE9X,
OM/IZ4AKS, 4U1UN, 4U1VIC, OE/IZ4AKS, 3A/IZ4AKS, W2/IZ4AKS…and so on….
Listen this Music……and enjoy the DX!!! To the next Giorgio, around the world, see you in the pileup!

Hi guys!
This is a very great news! Our score is the second in the world, after the Canarian station AO8A. We have a score of 14,094,054.
We thought that it wasn’t a good score, because the propagation on 10 and 15m was been very poor. But now we can say that it was a very good job.
I remember to all the team:
David KY1V, Dave G3NKC, Dave G4BUO, Martin G4XUM , Manu LU9ESD, Frank IZ7KHR.
This is the extract of the official score:
This is the first photo of my little antennas for my holidays in the North-East of Italy.
Location is Cortina D’Ampezzo, a wonderful place on Dolomiti mountains.
